Linking arguments
All people are able to achieve salvation because of the sacrifice of Jesus
All people can achieve salvation because of the martyrdom of Jesus, which satisfies the requisite punishment that would otherwise prevent salvation
The Christian God has predestined all events
God chose who to save through Christian salvation and then planned the fall of Adam and Eve
God foresaw the fall of Adam and Eve and then chose whom to provide with Christian salvation
The people selected by God for salvation are chosen because they exercise their free will to adhere to the Christian faith
Though all people are eligible for salvation, God must choose those to whom he will bring faith because no one would accept salvation otherwise

Note: This position is called unconditional election.

Supporting arguments

The Bible teaches that God is not a "respecter of persons", meaning that he treats all people equally regardless of class, rank or other characteristic. As another consequence, God chooses to whom to provide salvation based on his own designs. People do not have the free capacity to choose salvation on their own. [1]

Opposing arguments

Salvation is open to all who exercise their free will to choose God. [2]

2 Peter 3:9 states that God will save all believers. [3]
