Jesus will come to Earth again and then begin the thousand-year long reign predicted in the Book of Revelation
The thousand year-long reign of Jesus predicted in the Book of Revelation is a literally accurate prophecy

Note: This position is called amillennialism, nunc-millennium or realized millennium.

Supporting arguments

The reign of Jesus predicted is not a literal physical kingdom over which he directly governs. It is the current, ongoing age of the Christian church, over which Jesus rules as God. The "thousand year" duration is also symbolic. [1]

Opposing arguments

God made a covenant with David, promising a literal, physical kingdom over which Jesus would actually reign. This is described in the Bible (2 Samuel 7:8-16, 23:5; Psalm 89:3-4). [2]

Jesus will return to reign over Earth at the end of the millennium described in the Book of Revelation. This sequence of events is plainly described in the New Testament. [3]
